Two Seeds

Written by Michael Nevins

"For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:  Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.  That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.   (Rom 9:6-8)

One of the most difficult truths in scripture is to see that there are those who were created and predestine for destruction.

"The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil. (Prov 16:4)

There are many other clear passages which say the same.   (Job 21:30; 1 Peter 2:7-8; Jude 1:4)

William Law wrote in his book "The Spirit of Love" that all men have the seed of Christ in them.  Unfortunately his conclusions do not line up with scrpiture and undermine the clear message of election and predestination.  From the fall of Adam and Eve God declared that there would be two seeds.  Those of the devil,   flesh and destruction and those of the promise unto life everlasting.

"And Jehovah God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, cursed art thou above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:  and I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed: he shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel."  (Gen 3:14-15 ASV)

Soon after this announcement came the birth of Cain and Abel.  Cain was named as being the father of those religious Pharisee's who murdered, killed and crucified the righteous seed of God.  This was the birth of the children of wrath.

"Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets. Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers. Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?  Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:  That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.  (Matt 23:31-35 KJV)

The birth of two seeds came by the power of the Most High it did not come by the misuse of freedom or any other power of man or devil.   There is but One Power and it belongs to the omnipotent God of the Universe.

"When the Most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel.
(Deut 32:8KJV)

Hear we see that god separated the son's of Adam by his decree to the serpent in the Garden.  We need not give you further commentary except by the clear dictates of Scripture:

Two Seeds

"For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sarah shall have a son. And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac;  For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;  It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger.  As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated." (Rom 9:9-13)

"The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;  (Matt 13:38KJV)

"For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. (Rom 4:13KJV)

"I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying, Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life. But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.  Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace. And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.  What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded (Rom 11:1-7 KJV)

The Seed of Satan

"Against whom do ye sport yourselves? against whom make ye a wide mouth, and draw out the tongue? are ye not children of transgression, a seed of falsehood, (Isa 57:4KJV)

"Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward. (Isa 1:4KJV)

"Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. (John 8:44 KJV)

Seed of the Promise

"Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. (Gal 3:16KJV)

"And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. (Gal 3:29 KJV)

"Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel: (2 Tim 2:8KJV)

For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. (Heb 2:16KJV)

Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: (Heb 11:18KJV)

Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. (1 Pet 1:23KJV)

Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. (I Jn 3:9KJV)

And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. ( Rev 12:17 KJV)
